Last Saturday, we went to my mom’s parents house (Papa and Mamie :D) for a holiday get together :D. We relaxed, listened to Papa’s stories, ate enchiladas (it’s a delicious tradition), decorated a gingerbread house, and played “Apples to Apples“. Hehe :D. Well, like I said in the sneak peek, my oldest brother Jay is getting married in less than a month to the super sweet Kayla :D. They first met years ago at the Christian school we used to go to; Jay was on the basketball team and Kayla was a cheerleader who had a secret crush on him. Hehe :D. Jay always thought she was cute and would grow into a beautiful woman, but she and her family moved to Pennsylvania in the middle of Kayla’s high school, so they didn’t see each other for a while. Several years later, they moved back to Texas (but a couple hours from us) and facebook was becoming the thing, so they started to reconnect as friends :). Well, this summer, they got to chatting on facebook more and then there was a first date! :D. More dates happened and they fell hard and fast :). They are a perfect fit for each other and cannot wait for their engagement to be over and to live in their soon to be finished house on the lake here in Mt. Pleasant!! (My Papa is building it :D. He built our house too!). SO! With her living two hours from us, colds, and bad weather days, it’s been hard to get some engagement pictures of them. But we finally decided to go ahead and do some on the cloudy December 20 at my grandparent’s house :). Their joy and silliness cheered the pictures right up :D.
