Today I’m sharing the carefree, bright and joyful, country home, morning wedding of Caleb and Jenny Austin ๐ :D.
The day took place at Jenny’s home in the country and it was just the most comfortable, happy thing :).
And the day was filled with an abundance of yellow which is so fun and rare for most weddings now days! Maybe that’ll change :D.
And hay bales really are a brilliant seating idea :D.
I arrived at 8:00 that morning and the girls were dressed, smiling, and ready to start! It was great! Hooray for portraits in the morning light :D.
These girls are adorable and so fun :D.
And don’t they look so pretty?!
๐
This is Jenny’s best friend from college and maid of honor: Jessi McElyea!
And this is Jenny’s great friend she’s known since grade school: Ashley Steingass!
And then there’s the one she’s known since birth: her younger sister Natti Guest. Hehe :D.
Jenny is such a sunshiney, down-to-earth person, and it reflected in every detail of the wedding: I loved it :).
Beautiful, ladies :).
๐ ๐
When I had them walk down this road, they all just started singing and it was so precious! And they sounded so good together! They’d obviously sang together before ;D.
Cheeriest thing :D.
The girls being barefoot totally fit the day and Jenny eventually joined them right before she walked down the aisle. Hehe :D.
Yaaaay friendship ๐
Jenny was the cutest, sweetest country bride ๐
And her mother made the dress, by the way!!
So lovely :).
Love, love, love ๐
LOVED that this happened ๐ :D.
Their ease and joy made my heart laugh :D. Which is the best :D.
“Sound of Music” spin? Hehe :D.
Then THIS happened! Too fun :D. And she looks so lovely!
๐
Hooray for the black-eyed Susans they saw by the side of the road and put in their hair! ๐
Yeeees. Hahaha ๐
I joked about them throwing their bouquets in the air, and Jenny was like “Ok!” Haha. I love her :D.
Then it was time for the guys portraits before the guests arrived! ๐ Lookin’ sharp, guys!
They’re chill, funny guys :D.
And Caleb has known all three of them almost his whole life! (for sure his brother ๐ )
Starting with Mark D’Anna!
Then the one whose wedding Caleb was a groomsman inย just the week before! Jordan Brown :D.
Haha
And then his older brother and best man Benjamin Austin!
And then this guy. Haha :D. I had never met Caleb before, but he is such a friendly, happy guy and he is perfect for Jenny :D.
Their version of “Abbey Road.” Hehe ๐
Fun socks, for the win. Haha ๐
Hahaha ๐
The best. Hahaha ๐
Nice, Caleb. Hehe ๐
The guests began arriving and taking their seats! ๐
The littlest ring bearer :D. You’ll see why he’s wearing a security shirt very soon. Hehe :D.
Didn’t their front yard make a delightful setting?!
Ok :D. Caleb had pre-recorded an audio of him talking about the ring bearer’s “mission” and how there was a plot to stop the ceremony, etc… and then they proceeded to fulfill their mission to the theme song of “Mission Impossible.” It was great. Haha :D.
Sweeeeet ๐
๐ ๐
And the guy marring them is one of Jenny’s older brothers Curtis! He did a great job :D.
Oh, the beauty, love, and joy :D.
His dad played a hymn on the trumpet as they braided the three strand cord representing themselves and Christ.
“…a threefold cord is not quickly broken.“
-Ecclesiastes 4:12
Cuuuute ๐
Happiness ๐ ๐
And after they were announced as the new “Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Austin”…
…this song came on ๐ ๐
“You make my dreeeeams coooome truuuue.”ย ๐
๐
Time to cut the cake and let everyone start eating! ๐
Didn’t it turn out beautiful?! I love the colors and that Willow Tree topper is just my favorite of all time ๐ <3.
Hooraaaay! ๐
The two, week apart, newlywed couples. Hehe ๐
Then it was time for just Caleb and Jenny :).
I’m going to go ahead and share their love story with you in Jenny’s words :).
“We met at college through my best friend. At first, he thought I was annoying and I thought him an apathetic Yankee. [Haha!] But after a year, we both changed. I realized he wasn’t too bad (which was slightly annoying since my best friend had predicted we would get together). We texted over Christmas break getting to know each other. At college in the spring, we set aside Wednesdays after church to spend time together. He asked me to go with him to Fine Arts and-just to be a pill- I said “No” :). Then I quickly changed my answer before he changed his mind. After I graduated, he spent a week with my family in Texas where he asked my dad permission to date me. Thus began our long distance relationship based on letters, crafts, Skype, and phone conversations. That summer I worked at a Christian camp in PA, after which Caleb picked me up for a visit with his family in New York. On our way up there, we stopped by a state park where a stone path followed a river through the gorge-it was beautiful! We found a still, quiet spot and skipped stones. That fall, I taught at Bethel while he attended college. I lost my dad in October, and Caleb drove 9 hours to be with my family. I was touched by his compassion. He spent Christmas break with my family and brought joy and companionship during that dark holiday. I was preparing to spend Valentine’s Day without my Valentine when February rolled around, but an accident that took my fingertips brought my man to my rescue. He told me that something as small as losing a finger couldn’t change his love for me-then I knew we could get through anything together with God’s strength. That summer we worked at the PA camp together. Caleb told his campers about his girlfriend who chopped off her fingers with a table saw and taught them about joy in Christ. After camp, we returned to the state park to skip stones-there Caleb asked me to marry him, and I readily agreed (with a scream).”
๐
They make me smile so much :D.
SO much :D.
I love to see how couples make each other smile and feel at ease like no one else can :).
And make each other laugh like no one else can. Hehe :D.
This daylight suited them so well ๐ :).
Yaaaaay ๐ ๐
Aaaaah!! I love them so much!! Haha
I told them they could just talk and do whatever and Caleb started telling her a story.
Caleb (half way through his first sentence): “Have I ever told you this before?”
Jenny: “No.”
Me (kinda to myself, don’t they they heard me. Haha): “…You’re telling her a story she’s never heard before! And I’m right here!”
I felt so special and kinda undeserving! Haha. I know it’s a little thing, but to be a witness of these little things is a priceless part of my job ๐ :D.
Jenny shared with me what Caleb is like and what she loves about him :).
“I love that Caleb is a Goldy man who seeks to please the Lord in every aspect of his life. He is consistent and loyal. He listens when people need to talk and genuinely cares for them. When it comes to building something or fixing things, it must be done right. so he is a bit of a perfectionist in some ways. He loves to make people laugh and finds much self-worth in encouraging others. He is loving, sweet, and thoughtful. He thinks things through and enjoys being active.”
Hooray for beautiful back roads and kisses in dappled light :).
Caleb shared the same things with me about Jenny :).
He prefaced with “(Words can’t express)” :).
“Jenny is beautiful. I love that she loves other people so much. She is rarely seen doing anything that is only for herself. Jenny has committed her life to serve God. She loves working with children, and has an uncanny way of understanding and communicating with them. Jenny loves fun, whether it’s hammocks, random day-trips, fires, sports,…she often sets out on mini-adventures. Jenny can sing like an angel but she doesn’t ever show off. She also has a compassion that exceeds most souls. When somebody she knows and loves is down, she will try to encourage them. Jenny is industrious. Fixing furniture, resurfacing furniture, driving a tractor, photo-editing,…she is a kind of Jane-of-all-trades. All of this fades, compared to her joy, it is really what makes her so beautiful. Jenny is the most joy-overflowing person I have ever met in my life. I truly believe this is her gift from God. It’s a joy not found or placed in the things of this world, but in the things of the next. I’ve seen her go through tragedy, and her joy remain in-tact. She stands on the Rock.”
<3
Mmmm ๐
๐
Hehe ๐
This is them. Haha ๐
Caleb sees these flowers over above the road: “Hey! Could we get pictures with those yellow flowers?”
Yes, yes, we can :D.
And even though sitting on the ground isn’t Caleb’s favorite, he complied without pause and only teased about it being his faaaavorite thing once he was down there. Lol. It was worth it :).
๐
Dreamy ๐
Me: “Caleb, tell her something I can’t hear.”
Caleb: “Now she’s gonna be embarrassed.” Haha. Adorable :D.
Like I said in their first sneak peek, this is one of my favorite images ever ๐ :). The light, colors, closeness, contentedness in their faces, I love it all ๐ <3.
Then they rejoined their guests. Hehe :D.
Sunflower seeds for a sunflower day :D.
There was a chance of rain throughout the day, but it ONLY rained right before they got ready to leave! And it only lasted about 10 minutes; God is good :D. And look at adorable Jenny running through the rain!
Time to head out!!
Off to their honeymoon! ๐
It was a day of joy and smiles all around and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part of it :D.
With a smile,
