Last month, on a humid Louisiana day, Mark and Miranda Klein were wed :). It was on the news! Hehe :D. It was a lovely day and I was so happy to be a part of it 🙂 :).
Their rose gold rings were a delight to photograph 😀 :D.
:D!!
I didn’t even realize ’till I downloaded this picture that that vase said “Klein”! Glad I unknowingly captured it. Haha.
Hi 😀
Miranda and her girls spent the morning in the theater dressing room at Louisiana College (where their reception later that day was held and where her younger sister Ariel’s wedding was held last year!! :D)
There’s Ariel! 😀 Still have such fond memories of her and Taylor’s wedding last summer (my first outdoor wedding) and now they’re expecting their first child this fall!! 😀
Miranda’s makeup artist and hair dresser did SUCH a stunning job for all of them.
Miranda hadn’t showed her bridesmaids her wedding dress yet and was going to have a “first look” for them later that day, so only us “non-bridesmaids” could get a peek :D.
Mark and Miranda both work in the news, so it was very appropriate to take a picture of their announcement in the paper :D.
After an incredibly stressful week, the Lord gave her calm :).
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”-Philippians 4:7
And doesn’t she look beautiful?? 🙂
🙂
I love that Snoopy made an appearance with everyone in this corner. Haha 😀
Gorgeous.
Such a beautiful smile :). Ready to marry her man :).
Her lovely momma, Mrs. Michele Quartemont, joined us too :D.
We arrived at Emmanuel Baptist Church and it was time to get the dress on!! 😀
🙂
My mom was a second shooter for fun and captured this picture (and many others in this post) of Miranda and her awesome friend and coordinator Ranell Bryant! She’s great, super fun, and I’ve known her since I was little too :D.
Headed to the courtyard to show the girls!! 😀
Eager with anticipation 😀 :D.
Aaaaah, Miranda 😀
They love her so much and their reactions were priceless :D.
And don’t they look amazing, by the way?? Yeah, more to come 😀 :D.
And of course Miranda was completely stunning. Wow.
Hehe 😀
Their flowers complimented them so well :D.
Here. They. Are. :D. And yeah, the reflective light in this courtyard was out of this world 😀 :D. It was like “HERE are the BEAUtiful PEOple!”
Aaaaah, their incredible smiling faces 😀 :D.
Love it. Haha 😀
Introductions! 😀 This is Miranda’s matron of honor and best friend since childhood: Rebecca Axsom :D.
And y’all know her sister Ariel 😀 (or you should by now in this post. Lol). P.S. Most beautiful pregnant bridesmaid? Quite possibly.
😀 😀
And this is their youngest sister Madeline! 😀
And you may remember her as Ariel’s maid of honor last year: Rebekah Magee! 😀
😀
And this is Mark’s sweet younger sister Ashleigh Klein! 😀
And this is Miranda’s married bud Bethany Carey! 😀
And this Patience Deloach: their families have been super for close for pretty much forever :D.
Hehe 😀
And this is her sweet friend Hannah Shields! 😀
Miranda and her adorable flower girls :D.
Precious 😀
This is her little cousin Shay McManus :).
And this is one of Rebecca’s little sisters: Sarah Gatch! 😀
And! This is her twin: Rachel! 😀
Radiant 😀
Yep, they’re models :D.
😀 😀
Yaaay 😀
It was time to head in, cool off…
…and for Miranda to hold Mark’s hand! :D. Yeah, so this is Mark! Lookin’ sharp and excited to hold Miranda’s hand. Hehe :D.
Yaaaay. Hehe :D.
They had gifts for each other too :D.
<3
This is just such a precious part of the day: they were so at ease and just loved being near and talking to each other :).
Mark: “How are you feeling? I feel pretty at peace.”
Hehe 😀
They’re adorable :D.
Mark just naturally leaned his head on the door towards her (so sweet!!), so I told her what he was doing and asked her to do the same thing. The result was precious 😀 <3
Awwwww <3
Miranda is the community connections reporter for “The Town Talk”, so they wanted a picture of their rings with the date from the paper :D.
Heeeey, guys! Haha.
Mark is such a personable, great guy :D. Makes him an invaluable asset to KLAB-TV!
That’s Miranda’s dad Mark is laughing with :D. Mr. Alan used to be an anchor for KALB and now he’s a professor of journalism at Louisiana College, so they have a pretty strong bond. Hehe :D.
All the guys! 😀
Mark really loves Miranda’s family and her 4 brothers are no exception :D. They like him pretty well too ;).
The two adorable ring bearers! Rebecca’s son Noah and Miranda’s youngest brother Mason :D.
Now the groomsmen! Fellow newsman and best man: Steven Maxwell :D.
One of Miranda’s younger brothers: Aaron :D.
Another younger brother: Micah :D.
And then her second to youngest brother: Andrew :D.
Another fellow newsman and friend: Keith Weiss :D.
Their local meteorologist and friend to Mark: Dorrell Wenninger :D.
Buddy: Derek Carter 😀
And last, but not least, Corey Addison :D.
He wanted some pictures with his almost father-in-law too :).
‘Cause they’re friends too. Hehe :D.
Then Mark and his dad: Mr. Robert Klein :).
They’re buddies too. Hehe :D.
Oh, Noah. Hehe 😀
Lookin’ debonair.
Then Dorrell had this fun idea. Hahahaha. It turned out so great :D.
Whoa! Breaking out a smoulder, Mark? Haha
Mark gave all his guys custom wedding guitar picks :D.
These were well-dressed, happy guys :D.
See? Haha
Had to get some shots of each lovely bridesmaid too! Thanks, Mom 😀
Miranda got a few final touches for her own portraits 😀
More incredible reflective light 😀 :D.
Beautiful, happy bride 😀
Sweet moment before the ceremony begins 😀
They look so much alike, don’t they?
😀
Sweet 😀
She enters…
…and then this. Oh <3 <3
So beautiful 🙂 🙂
He thought so too 😉 <3
Tearssss!
😀 😀
Ooooh <3
The passing over. Precious.
🙂
Her dad marrying them was so special :).
Here comes Mason with the rings. Hehe :D.
Him tromping back down was too cute. Haha.
😀
Yaaaaay!
🙂 🙂
My run back up the aisle to get out of their way. Haha
Husband and wife 😀
😀
Happy receiving line 😀
And THESE two friends of mine enjoyed Miranda’s wedding day, and then got engaged themselves that night!! 😀 😀 So happy for y’all, Josh and Laura!! 😀
The geniuses behind the makeup and hair 😀
😀 😀
Going to gather the family outside for portraits :D.
Again, like I always say, family portraits outside are just the best :D.
All the sisters are taken now. Hehe :D.
Had to get Madeline’s boyfriend Graham in a family picture :D.
Haha. Mason’s their little buddy :D.
Heeeeey, wedding party! 😀 (and thank you to those who redirected traffic to protect me from getting run over, so I could get everyone in this shot. Haha).
Hahaha 😀
Mason. Haha.
Favorite; I love it :D.
Yay for a picture with them! Hehe 😀
Everyone headed to the reception and we had time for just them :).
(Had to get pictures with this cool window)
Kaleidoscope love 🙂 <3
Mr. and Mrs. Klein 😀 😀
Now I’m going to share their love story with you as told by Mark from their wedding website :).
committing career and academic suicide!’ That was the phrase I heard on
my first date with Miranda, who just so happens to be the first
daughter of Alan Quartemont, my teacher, mentor, pastor and friend. With
a smooth start like that, it was bound to be a normal relationship,
right? Ok, nevermind.
Shortly after our romance started, we were
blessed beyond measure to take an all-expense paid trip across the world
to study abroad in England. I’m thankful to my main man Big Ben for
making her swoon for me. If it wasn’t for tea, crumpets and really big
clocktowers, I don’t know if I would be writing this post right now.
Thankfully, now our lives are ‘Jolly good.’
Before our return
home, our lives changed. We had realized much sooner than we had
anticipated that our relationship meant much more than we could ever
imagine. That’s why at 9:00 p.m. in Oxford, UK, when I should have been
writing papers for our scholarship program, I was picking out the ring
that she’s wearing right now. I didn’t get a great grade on that paper,
but I like the story that I’m writing on this website much more than the
one I turned in whilst in Oxford.
After we returned home, we
continued to grow closer together. I knew that I had found the person I
wanted to marry and it was time to do something about that. So, around
Christmas time the plans began to ask the toughest question of my
life… Well, I suppose the MOST difficult was asking her father, but
this one makes for a better story.
Because we have an honest
relationship, I asked her for her ring size. I suppose I could have
stolen a ring from her jewelry box, but should any relationship be built
upon theft? I think not! The problem: she accidentally told me the
wrong size! Future men preparing to propose, this is the scariest thing
that can happen… Well, that and saying ‘no’, but let’s hope for the
best, right? After I realized that the ring I bought would look like a
bracelet on that finger I’m wrapped around, I sent it back to be resized
right before the planned proposal date. Rookie mistake.
‘Two
weeks.’ That’s how long the jewelry store clerk said the repair would
be. ‘Two weeks.’ Precisely one week before the big day.
So the
frantic phone calls and late night prayers commenced. Plans were
changed. I started to sweat. What could I do? Wait another week? That’s
torture!
The main issue was that Miranda had figured out my
plans. If you know me well enough, you would know that I have a very bad
poker face. She had deciphered the time, date and location of the
proposal. Something had to be done.
Photoshop is a fun tool.
While magazines use it to make Kim Kardashian look like a marble and
give George Clooney hair, I had a different strategy in mind. You can
Photoshop screenshots of websites that have jewelry repair website dates
on them. Sometimes jewelry is coming in two weeks. Sometimes it’s two
months. I’ll never tell.
So, on the initial planned day of the
proposal, I still didn’t have the ring back, but my Photoshop trick had
bought me more time and the element of surprise. At least that’s what I
thought when I woke up that morning. When I was driving into work, I
just happened to check the repair site. It was my usual routine to check
it daily, just in case, and sure enough! Sitting in a small box inside a
jewelry store in Alexandria were my answered prayers. So, taking this
as a sign from an omnipotent and omnibenevolent God, I proceeded with
the second series of frantic phone calls to reapply my plans that I had
canceled a week before.
On December 4th in downtown Alexandria,
the city is lit for the Christmas season for the first time. Miranda and
I were so excited for the ‘Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ that we had
gone looking at unlit Christmas lights before, just to get ready for
the holiday spirit. So when the lights came on for what the city calls a
night of ‘Holiday Magic,’ not only was it the start of our favorite
time of year, but also the first real step towards the start of our new
lives together.
Before you ask, I have no idea what I said. Or
what she said. That moment will remain the most blurred moment of my
life filled with nervousness, laughter, hugging and teary eyes. I can
perform in front of thousands with my band and talk for hours on live
television, but saying one phrase on my knees will forever be one of the
most difficult speeches I will ever give.
She said…
Well she didn’t say anything. But, I think that meant ‘yes.’
Now
the next chapter of this story is still being written, and many who
read this will be a part of it. On June 20th at Emmanuel Baptist Church,
we get to stand together, say some words and kiss once. And if you
think I lucked out with marrying the most beautiful woman in the world,
good for you. ‘I do.’ See what I did there? I would say that she has to
put up with these terrible jokes for the rest of her life, but in
actuality, had she written this story, it would be much funnier and much
better written. Note to any men still looking for spouses: find someone
who’s smarter than you. You’ll be amazed every day of your life like
I’ve been. 2014 was the best year of my life, but I have a feeling that
this year will be even better.”
😀
I asked Mark to describe Miranda and what he loves about her :).
“Miranda is the most intelligent person I have ever met. Each day, her mind amazes me with its unique ability to solve problems, coupled with its driving determination to never give up no matter how hard the task. Somehow, through a combination of her own iron will, and the pure grace of God, she is able to balance working full-time, being a full-time student, and planning a wedding, all while being my best friend and personal therapist. As far as I’ve been able to tell her only weakness is a depleting battery that causes her to fall asleep in a matter of moments, following a particularly challenging day, but I can hardly blame her for that!
She is the most beautiful person I have ever had the pleasure of
being around, and each day, I am equally stunned by her presence, as I
am honored that such a wonderful person could ever love myself. She is
such an inspiration to me each day. I want to be more like her. More
like her loving heart she shows towards her family and friends,. More
like her creativity and passion she puts into the stories she writes for
the newspaper. More like the bright mind and beautiful disposition that
amazes college professors and makes everyone she meets love her, even
before she says the first word. Simply put, she makes me want to better
myself, not for myself, but so I can better serve her. She is my
greatest inspiration, my best friend, and I can’t wait to love her all
the days of my life.”
Wow <3
I asked her the same thing :).
“They say opposites attract, but not so much in our case. One of the reasons our friendship actually started is because we’re a lot alike-same humor, same interests-and eventually, we also learned the same goals and dreams in life. Over our dating relationship, we truly became best friends. So, I love that Mark is my best friend. (Yes, we’ve been called two peas in a pod a time or two). But I love the small ways we are different too, and how he encourages me to be better. Even before we started dating, I looked up to Mark for many reasons. One of them was how hard he worked. Now, his hard work is an example to me, and he encourages me in my own. He challenges and inspires me. I’ve never known anyone so thoughtful and selfless toward others. I love how because of that he always puts me first, and tells me everyday how he wants to serve me better. I don’t think there has ever been a guy so thoughtful. It still blows my mind everyday how he finds little, creative things to do to make my day. He also has a gift for making me (and everyone) laugh and smile, and he is one of those special people who can make any situation a blast. I love how contagious his excitement and love for life and others is. I can’t think of anyone I would rather spend forever with <3”
Aaaaaah. They can write, can’t they?! (it is their job. Lol) But what they wrote is true and God made them for each other and it’s grand 🙂 :).
Such beauty and piercing blue eyes!! And the way he looks at her <3.
Dreamy 🙂 🙂
🙂
Happy happy 🙂
Then we went to the little park down the street where they got engaged :D.
“This last season of our life together has been one of the busiest. It was no joke balancing full-time jobs, college, and planning a wedding. So, we learned to appreciate every second of our time spent together. Even short trips to the store or a quick lunch break or running into each other on a story assignment for work became the highlight of our days.
We learned to appreciate getting to do anything together no matter how simple. Now that we’ll have a little more time on our hands we would like to take more short road trips, read together, and start decorating way too early so we can do one of our absolute favorite things together: celebrate Christmas!”
“IIIIIIIIIII’m…hooked on a feeling!
I’m high on believing
That you’re in love with meeeee!”

Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have that magic technique
When we sway I go weak.”
