Hi, friends! After a very busy summer and my wedding season coming to a close, I now have time to pick back up where I left off with blogging my 2017 weddings! 😀On a warm day in February, these darling best friends (who met at a swing dance) tied the knot and what a joyful, fun celebration it was :D. Cowboy boots, silly string, silly faces, easy laughter, balloons, fireworks, confetti, faithful friends and family, and a bride and groom with devoted hearts: all these things made for such a happy day :). Hooray for God knitting Zach and Kathleen’s hearts together <3
Their love story 🙂
Kathleen: “We met swing dancing – after we danced, we talked about 45 min. and got to know each other. We discovered we were both Christians and loved the Lord. We got each others contact information before leaving the swing dance place and continued getting to know each other on a casual basis.
After almost 2 months, Zach asked if I was interested in starting a serious relationship with him with the eventual goal of marriage and I said yes! 🙂 It didn’t take us long for God to confirm His will to each of us concerning our marriage (both of us were pretty sure early on that this was the one).
We continued to grow closer together and seek God’s leading and other’s advice, including the advice of our parents. God has blessed our relationship and we became engaged with our parents’ blessing on July 16, 2016 :).
Funny note -> We started basic wedding planning in May. Zach and I had a wedding date picked out and place chosen before our engagement, but we kinda felt a little odd announcing that before our engagement. Although, there were several times I introduced him as the guy I was going to marry before I actually had a ring. :)”
Me: “Zach, what is Kathleen like?”
Zach: “Beautiful, smart, funny, Godly, sweet, amazing.”
Me: “What do you love about her?”
Zach: “Her beautiful heart and spirit. Her beautiful eyes and smile. She loves the Lord! Everything!”
Me: “Kathleen, what is Zach like?”
Kathleen: “Zach is an introvert by nature; however he can be the life of the party if he wants to be. He is a deep thinker – he thinks before he talks and he’s a good communicator. Zach is both analytical and sensitive. He’s a hard worker and a good leader.”
Me: “What do you love about him?”
Kathleen: “Being in God’s will is extremely important to him. He reads the Bible and prays with me. His response is humble when he is under appreciated, rebuked, or mistreated. He is SO sweet to me – he notices when something is not quite right with me and asks me about it; he wants me to be happy. He leads in our relationship. He talks with me – he places a big importance on having good communication with me and keeping our friendship strong. He’s an awesome dance partner – sweeps me off my feet :). He can be serious, but he can also be carefree and even silly. He likes to eat healthy and exercise – he wants to take care of himself. His hair, his touch, his soft tone of voice, his laugh.”
Me: “What are y’all’s favorite things to do together?”
“Run, swim, talk, play strategy games, eat healthy food, pray, share scripture verses, dance, hug, laugh, cry, share our hearts, listen to music, and sing.”
With a smile,
